nmc 103 recap pt 1

 truly one of the most interesting and engaging course. putting part 1 because i think theres gonna be sooo much more to learn later !!

met amal (the palestinian), aisha (the married indian canadian), mershi (the one who keeps her struggles) and sarah (the smart one). and of course the prof, a razzaque arafat. so so sooo many things ive learned in this course.

started of with how it was never merely a simple khulafa ar rasyidin - umayyah - abbasiyah - uthmaniyah. but the fall of umayyah was because abbasiyyah hunted them down and killed the remaining families of umayyah. so abd rahman ad-dakhili fled to spain and build al-andalus (not present andalusia). his center was in cordoba and he had a beautiful mosque in alhambra. all those beautiful mosques in spain was during the reign of umayyah in al-andalus. 

then i also learned about how malta was once under the muslim rule. so the people there speaks arabic with tunisian accent but they write in latin scriptures. they even pray to Alla in their churches ironically.

the i also learned about ilm kalam and how theres that section of muktazilis and ash'aris.

ahhh so many new things i love this course so much and i love the proffff!!!!
