October recap

i honestly just wanna write my tazkirah recap that ive heard for the past few months here so i dont forget

1. the story of ubai bin kaab

- this is the first sahabi story i listened to in the women circle. and it captured me with the utmost beautiful story line. how he was one of the sahabis entrusted by rasulullah as the guardian of the quran (in a way, not specifically mentioned). how when he was told that sickness was an opportunity for forgiveness, he immediately prayed to be sick until his death with the exception that he was still strong enough for prayers and ibadahs. how he was the one rasulullah asked him to listen to during the last of ramdhan of his. how after the prophet's death, he was one of the 3 writers or collectors of the quran. how he was a teacher until his old age. that a traveller came to him to ask him a few questions, but he said he couldnt and the traveller said something about how this wasnt what Allah would have wanted because Allah has grated him the knowledge and he had to teach it, but he was sick and tired and old. so ubai told the traveller that he would answer him before friday. but thursday came and he died. truly beautiful, a figure that i would very much look up to. definitely a role model of the ahl quran.

2. the story of hamza abdul mutalib

- obv weve known him as the uncle of rasulullah but he was also a nursing sibling of rasulullah (abang susuan). one of the bravest strongest person ever. asadullah for a reason. he was back from a hunting session when he heard the news of muhammad bringing a new religion and everyone was talking bad about it. he got up and immediately converted to islam and saying how if anyone tries to torture any of the muslims, he would fight them. then of course the story of his death and how the muslims wanted to cover him up with 2 shrouds (kain kafan) but felt bad to the person next to him. so they had to do a lucky draw only for hamza to take the smaller piece, which obv didnt fit him.

3. the story of wahsyi

- didnt mean to talk about wahsyi but he obv came up when talking about hamza. one of the saddest story of any sahabi in my opinion. how hindun binti utbah told him that he could be free from enslavement if he could kill hamza. and him being a slave and a master of spear, took the challenge. he even covered in a poison that when he threw the poisonous spear to hamza, hamza saw him and almost got to him if it wasnt for the poison. he then went free and after fathul mecca, he went up to rasulullah and converted to islam. sadly, rasulullah did accept him but he didnt want to meet wahsyi knowing that wahsyi was the one who killed his beloved uncle. tup tup tup ridda wars came and he used the same spear to kill musailamah al kazzab. his redemption arc at its finest. but still sad knowing that after what he did, he couldnt turn back the time and killing rasulullah's beloved uncle then rasulullah not wanting to see him would forever haunt him 

4. the story of maisarah bin masruq al habsyi

- how when islam first came and rasulullah went to preach at his hometown, he wanted to help him but none of his family allowed it. 20 years later during hajj wada' when he had just converted to islam, he met up with rasulullah and asked him if rasulullah remebered him. rasulullah did. but let this be a lesson of the people that converted to islam before fathul mekah is different from the ones who converted after. the people who was with islam at time of difficulty is different from the ones who converted at a time of convenient .

لَا يَسْتَوِى مِنكُم مَّنْ أَنفَقَ مِن قَبْلِ ٱلْفَتْحِ وَقَـٰتَلَ ۚ ..."٠..."

Those of you who donated and fought before the victory over Mecca is unparalleled. (al-hadid:10)

5. happiness paradox

- not many stories to be told, just wanna share that the more 'happiness' that you chase, the less 'happiness' you get. so always always always be grateful for what you have and opt for qanaah, being content with the blessings that you have

6. al-hijr:97-99

وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضِيقُ صَدْرُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ ٩٧

فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُن مِّنَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ ٩٨

وَٱعْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَكَ ٱلْيَقِينُ ٩٩

We certainly know that your heart is distressed by what they say.

so glorify the praises of your Lord and be one of those who always prays.

and worship your Lord until the inevitable comes your way.

- Current favourite ayat. in this ayat Allah is validating your feelings that sometimes, it gets too hard and too rough that you just keep it all to yourself, because not once did i ever hear the complains of rasulullah in doing dakwah to his companions. but the fact is, he maybe did maybe he did not complain it to Allah, but he didnt have to say anything for Allah to know, Allah always knows. he knows when youre struggling and he knows your capability. so always always come back to him, praise him and pray. and its not even long, only till the day you die in this dunya all for the rewards in the everlasting afterlife amiin.
